China has dispatched a second team of medical experts to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to support ongoing efforts to contain the country's Ebola outbreak.

According to reports, the team will work alongside Congolese health authorities and international partners to strengthen disease surveillance, laboratory testing, case management, infection prevention and emergency response measures. The deployment is part of continued international efforts to curb the spread of the Ebola virus.

Focus on outbreak control

The medical experts are expected to provide technical support in key areas, including laboratory diagnosis, epidemiological investigations and the training of local healthcare workers. Their mission also seeks to enhance the DRC's capacity to detect and respond to new Ebola cases quickly.
Health officials have emphasized that rapid detection, effective contact tracing and proper treatment remain essential in containing Ebola outbreaks and preventing further transmission.

Continued international cooperation
China has previously supported public health initiatives in the DRC through medical assistance, supplies and technical expertise. The dispatch of a second medical team underscores ongoing international collaboration in responding to public health emergencies.
The latest deployment complements efforts by the DRC government, the World Health Organization (WHO) and other partners working to control the outbreak and strengthen the country's healthcare response.

Ebola remains a serious public health threat
Ebola is a severe viral disease that spreads through direct contact with the bodily fluids of infected people or contaminated materials. Symptoms include fever, fatigue, muscle pain, vomiting, diarrhoea and, in severe cases, internal and external bleeding.
Health experts continue to encourage early reporting of suspected cases, strict infection prevention measures and community awareness to help limit the spread of the disease.
Authorities in the DRC and international partners are continuing to monitor the situation closely while implementing measures aimed at bringing the outbreak under control.
