Former Chief Justice David Maraga on Friday hosted Murang'a Governor Irungu Kang'ata and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi in Kisii ahead of the Linda Mwananchi rally scheduled to take place in the region.
The meeting comes as leaders associated with the Linda Mwananchi movement intensify preparations for the rally, which is expected to attract supporters and political leaders from different parts of the country.
Leaders Meet Ahead of Rally
Photos shared ahead of the event showed Maraga welcoming Governor Kang'ata and Senator Osotsi in Kisii before the planned public gathering.
While the agenda of their meeting was not made public, it took place as the three leaders prepared to participate in the Linda Mwananchi rally.
Growing Political Engagement
Governor Kang'ata has recently attended several events linked to the Linda Mwananchi movement, marking a shift in his political engagements. Senator Osotsi has also remained active in the coalition's activities and public forums.
The leaders have been participating in meetings and rallies aimed at engaging citizens on national issues and governance.
Focus of the Linda Mwananchi Campaign
The Linda Mwananchi movement has been holding rallies across the country to address issues affecting Kenyans, including the cost of living, governance, accountability and service delivery.
Organisers say the Kisii rally is part of a broader nationwide campaign to engage the public on these issues.
