Kenyan President William Ruto has congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India's longest-serving elected prime minister, marking a significant milestone in the country's democratic history.
In his congratulatory message, President Ruto praised Modi's leadership and the achievements India has recorded during his tenure, highlighting the strong ties between Kenya and India. He noted that Modi's leadership has played a key role in advancing economic growth, innovation, and e cooperation.
Modi surpassed the record previously held by India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, after completing 4,399 consecutive days in office. The milestone reflects sustained electoral support from Indian voters, having secured mandates in three successive general elections.
Leaders from across the world also sent congratulatory messages, commending Modi's governance, advocacy for the Global South, and efforts to position India as a leading voice in global affairs.
The milestone comes as India continues to expand its influence on the global stage, with Modi expected to maintain a prominent role in international diplomacy and economic cooperation .
