The United Opposition is meeting with Police Inspector General Douglas Kanja at Jogoo House today, following a 16-day deadline to apprehend perpetrators of the Witima Church Attack in Othaya. The opposition had given the IG until February 16 to identify and prosecute those responsible for the January 25 attack, which they claim was an assassination attempt on DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua.

The attack, which occurred during a church service, involved tear gas and live bullets, injuring congregants and damaging vehicles. The opposition alleges police involvement, citing intelligence pointing to a special unit referred to as "Sierra'.

Opposition leaders, including Gachagua, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Martha Karua, are demanding accountability and swift action. They've threatened nationwide protests if demands aren't met, citing concerns over safety and selective law enforcement.
