Thomas Frank has been sacked as Tottenham Hotspur manager after just eight months in charge, following a 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United. The decision was made due to the club's poor performance, with Spurs currently sitting 16th in the Premier League table, just five points above the relegation zone.

Frank's tenure was marked by a lack of wins, with the team going eight league games without a victory, and only two wins in 17 Premier League matches. The fans had turned against him, booing him off the pitch and chanting "sacked in the morning.

In a statement, Tottenham said: "The club has taken the decision to make a change in the men's head coach position and Thomas Frank will leave today. Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together. However, results and performances have led the Board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary.

Frank's departure means Tottenham will be looking for their sixth permanent manager in seven years, with Roberto De Zerbi, Mauricio Pochettino, and John Heitinga among the contenders for the job.
