– A young man, identified as Joseph Mureithi, has tragically lost his life after being thrown out of a Super Metro bus and run over by the same vehicle along the Kitengela-Namanga Road. The shocking incident occurred on Tuesday night, just hours after Mureithi had finished his shift at work and boarded the bus.

According to eyewitnesses, Mureithi had boarded the bus from around shalom stage heading to Nairobi town,However, during the journey, some passengers say the crew of the bus appeared confrontational and very chaotic. In a disturbing turn of events, the crew of the bus forcefully threw him out of the moving bus, leaving him on the road as it sped off.

"It’s sad, it’s painful,” said one witness. “It’s as though they didn’t care about his life. They just threw him out like he was nothing, and then ran over him as they sped off. He had only just started working and was helping his sick mother.”  Mureithi was rushed to Shalom Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

It was only the swift intervention of a Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Subaru patrol vehicle that stopped the Super Metro bus. Detectives tracked down the vehicle, registration number KDK 060H, and impounded it after a brief chase. Two crew members of the bus are now in police custody as investigations continue.

The loss has deeply affected Mureithi’s family. “He was the firstborn, and he was doing everything he could to support his mother, paying her rent and helping his younger sibling,” said Muthomi, Mureithi's relative. “Now, he's gone, just like that. I hope the government looks into this.”

The Super Metro management has since expressed their regret over the incident, stating they are still piecing together the details surrounding the events that led to the tragedy.

This incident serves as another grim reminder of the reckless driving and poor passenger treatment that continues to plague public transport systems. Locals are demanding justice for Mureithi, a young life taken too soon. As the authorities continue their investigation, they are calling on anyone with information to come forward.
An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday to determine the exact cause of death.
